It’s a question voiced by many caregivers who find out that many healthcare costs for diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, are not covered by the government.

Unprepared for healthcare costs, families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s are financially struggling, reports the Alzheimer’s Association in its 2016 annual report. At least 48% reported cutting back on spending to care for their loved one. Only 3% of those being cared for had long-term health insurance in place.
